Roughlock Falls is located at Savoy, on FDR 222, sitting just behind Spearfish Canyon Lodge and Convention Center. There are numerous parking and picnic areas at the entrance to the trail. You can also find public bathrooms near the entrance to the trail. In the last several years a great deal of work has been done to the area. This trail is now handicap accessible. Fencing and signs have been added as a response to damage from the many visitors to this trail every year.
Similar to other hikes in Spearfish Canyon, you will not be disappointed with this destination. There are thousands of tourists that visit this trail every year! A fully cemented in path makes this trail very accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. With numerous parking spots along the viewing, you will not need to search for parking. Though, during tourist season, it’s fair game! Get your photos and get out! After that, stop by Latchstring Restaurant or Cheyenne crossing for some local Black Hills dining. You will not be disappointed in your meal.
