Spearfish Falls Trail is found just behind the Latchstring Restaurant parking lot, about thirteen miles into Spearfish Canyon driving from Spearfish. The entire hike is less than a mile and is a very easy hike. Every year, thousands of tourists make this stop, never disappointed. All of the trails in the canyon, including, Iron Creek trail, Devils Bathtub, and Eleventh Hour, have some representation in this trail.
The Spearfish Falls Trail begins with the beautiful Botanical Gardens of Spearfish Canyon. An information booth sits in grass around the Latchstring Restaurant parking lot and will give you general directions for your hiking needs. From this stop you will also be able to see, snowmobile trails, the restaurant, hiking trails, a tiny cabin. All of these sights are unique to Savoy.

This hike is very shaded and can be very cool in the Spring and Fall months. A clearing at the floor of the hike hosts several benches and is a perfect photo opp. The waterfall at the base has found its place in thousands of travel photo albums, as well as in many magazine articles depicting Spearfish Canyon.
